Strength & Weight Training Kensington
1-to-1 Strength Training, Weight Training & Personal Coaching

Strength Training Built Around You
Strength training should be simple, progressive and built around the individual.
I provide 1-to-1 strength and weight training in Kensington and South Kensington, helping clients become stronger, build muscle, improve body composition and feel more capable in everyday life.
Whether you're new to weight training, returning after time away or already experienced in the gym, your training is structured around your goals, ability and lifestyle.
With more than 15 years of coaching experience, I focus on good technique, intelligent progression and training that you can sustain consistently.
What Can Strength & Weight Training Help With?
Strength and weight training can improve far more than simply how much weight you can lift.
Depending on your goals, your training may focus on building muscle, improving strength, reducing body fat, increasing bone density, improving movement and maintaining physical capability as you get older.
For many of my clients, particularly those over 40, strength training becomes increasingly important. The goal isn't necessarily to train like a bodybuilder or spend hours in the gym. It's to build and maintain a strong, capable body that supports the way you want to live.

Strength Training Over 40
As we get older, maintaining strength and muscle becomes increasingly important.
Strength training can help preserve muscle mass, support bone health, improve balance and movement, and make everyday activities feel easier. It can also help maintain the physical confidence to keep doing the things you enjoy.
Training over 40 doesn't mean training cautiously or avoiding challenging exercise. It means training intelligently.
Your programme should take account of your experience, movement, previous injuries, recovery and lifestyle while still providing enough challenge to make meaningful progress.
At 47, I understand that good training isn't about trying to train like you're 20. It's about becoming stronger, fitter and more capable for the years ahead.
How I Coach Strength Training
Every client trains differently because every client arrives with a different starting point, training history and goal.
I don't believe in unnecessarily complicated programmes or changing exercises simply for the sake of variety. Good strength training is built around effective movements, good technique, appropriate resistance and consistent progression.
Your sessions may include free weights, dumbbells, resistance machines, functional movements and conditioning depending on what we're trying to achieve.
I'll adjust your training as you progress, taking into account how you're moving, how you're recovering and what is happening outside the gym. Some sessions should challenge you. Others may need to be adapted.
Who I Work With
I work with clients with a wide range of training backgrounds, from complete beginners to people who have trained for many years.
Many are busy professionals who want their training to be efficient, structured and properly coached. Others are returning to weight training after time away, looking to build muscle and strength, improve body composition or simply feel physically stronger again.
You don't need to arrive fit or experienced. We start from where you are and build from there.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need experience with weight training?
No. I work with complete beginners as well as experienced clients. Your training will start at an appropriate level and progress as your strength, technique and confidence improve.
Can I start strength training over 40?
Absolutely. Strength training can be particularly valuable as we get older. Your programme will be designed around your current ability, training history, goals and recovery.
Can strength training help me build muscle?
Yes. Building muscle requires appropriate resistance training, progressive overload, consistency and sufficient recovery. Your programme can be structured specifically around increasing strength and muscle.
Can weight training help with fat loss?
Yes. Strength training can form an important part of a body-composition programme by helping you maintain or build muscle while reducing body fat. Training can also be combined with conditioning where appropriate.
